I plan on keeping about 50. Depending on die off, that leaves 50 more. Cheapest I've been able to find them at lfs's is $.99. Not looking to make profit, just wanna share the bargain I found.

Just got them in. Probably gonna let them float for most of the day. If anyone is interested, let me know asap. Will probably add to tank late tonight, early tomorrow.

Nice snails. Probably the size of a peanut m&m. Not sure on die off yet. Also had some nice pieces of calurpa that I put in the sump.

Not to be debbie downer but those are not Nassarius. They are a temperate carnivore. Not a good choice for a reef tank.

There are a lot of snails that look similar. The problem is the vast majority of the type are as much predatory as they are scavengers. Some like whelks are mostly predatory. The reef friendly ones are in the minority.

By the looks of it your probably right, but from what I've researched on many boards is that they don't tend to bother corals and tend to act very similar to nassarius. The drawback is that where they are coming from more temperate water, there is a higher chance of die off over weeks to months. But then again, don't most of the snails we buy. I'm gonna let them be. I put about half in the tank and half in the sump. If I notice issues with any of my corals, I guess I'll have to do something. But for now, they seem to be doing a hell of a job cleaning up.

Yeah I think they are completely reef safe as far as corals are concerned. It's other snails and perhaps sand bed microfauna that might be on their menu. Some of the stuff I read on them suggested cannibalism if they can find enough other critters to eat.

Has there been any die off? Could this be what's up with your frogspawn? Just a thought.....
