First the tank looks awesome and clean. The compartments in the rear are adequate and made to hold some of the smaller skimmers. The cover is also a nice touch even though its essentially 2 peices of glass that go over the tank. In the tank upon unboxing was the cover and a thin foam yogaish pad. The compartments each had a media basket and 2 pumps for return. The rear is wrapped in vinyl and a razor blade is necessary of your looking to run a fuge. Now the headache. The stand is a peice of crap. I built a subframe with 3 levels of squares flush to each wall and it still wiggles. The tank seems to never be flush with the manufacturers stand. Its hanging over by 1/2 the thickness of one pane of glass on the front or rear and this concerns me. Back to the yoga mat. Its smaller than the tanks footprint. Im clearly not using it. There is no mention of it in the directions. I like the tank, Im highly dissapointed in the stand. Of you were me, how would you proceed on setting this up? Is the yoga mat stuff necessary for a rimless? Do I need to replace the top of the stand with a larger peice?

I don't think the mats are necessary if the stand is PERFECT. Since you clearly have issues with the stand I would say it's required in your case. If it were me I'd probably put another top on that fits otherwise I'd be constantly worrying about it.
