I am going to be in Bangor Friday night and staying over until Saturday, are there any interesting salt water shops that I should check out while I am there?

You have Petpro at the mall and petco.
Your time would be best spent visiting Cultivated reef, I have a few nice frags ready for the market in connecticut and will be around as well.

CultivatedReef is a must stop for sure. Check out scoobnoob and Lance if you can as well.

There is a place in Ellsworth that I hear good things about too, can't remember the name of it.

Depends on what you're looking for. I went into petpro in the airport mall yesterday. Some nice corals, but not much in the way of fish. For corals definitely go see CR or scoob. Worth the extra 10 minute drive. Otherwise for short distances, there's another petpro in Ellsworth and I've been told there is a newer store that I've never been to. Another good stop is Vance's in Bucksport. He's usually got something unique and its almost worth the ride to see his Hawaiian based "pond".

we have some good corals over at petco, pet pro ahs a decent coral selection too, and of course cultivated reef is the place to go if greg is available for a visit.

Thanks to every one for the tips. Unfortunately had some thing come up at home and had to head out first thing Saturday so I did not get a chance to follow up on any of them. Maybe next time.

I think he has a face book page. Google Vance's Tropical fish and you will come up with him. I used to have his business card, but can't find it.

He's right. If you're not watching for it, you'll miss it. I drive by it everyday for work and still have a hard time remembering where it is. And yes, the cops do suck through there. Speed drops fast coming in from Bangor and people have a tendency to tromp on it around the mill headed toward Bangor. PD just sits and waits |
