Honestly they are probably better off unfed. If you had someone who could feed them every 3 days or so while you were gone that would be more than enough.

No I had one on me Christmas list but it never showed up. That's just one expense I just can't bring myself to make. Maybe I can pull one out of the sky well I'm on the plane

Id honestly be terrified that the autofeeder would break and over feed. There must be someone you know locally. I wish ellsworth was closer. I have a guy come take care of my tank daily when Im gone and give him coral it works out well for both of us. Likewise I tank sit for a bunch of people. Im sure there must be someone.

Ya I think I'll go without not that I wouldn't trust the feeder any more then any other automated device in my tank but I think I have someone to come almost every day now.

This reminded me of something funny.... first time I left my tank I didn't have a feeder and also didn't really know I could leave then without food for 3-4 days. So I set a timer on a fan and put flake food on the edge of the tank. Fan blew it right in! Lol kinda crazy but it worked.

That is awesome I thought I was innovative and I know they could go a cpl days between feedings but I feed at least twice a day now and kinda feel bad making them go without I know that's corny but what ever

Not really helpful for your situation though Hold on, let me just line up this row of a dozen fans, plug all the timers into this massive row of power strips........ I've got this!

It is something to think about though... If you plugged an auto feeder in a timer it would be like a fail safe

Might be a little overkill unless you happen to 1, have really bad luck or 2 are running an autofeeder that you know is likely to fail. Just let fate and karma take this one!!

yes a little over kill but it would eliminate the chance of any over feeding
I'm really not supper worried about it just like hearing ppls opinions on different things

I have been using an Eheim everyday feeder on my tank for a few years now and I will say it works well. Its never clogged and ive never cleaned it. Im out of town except for weekends usually and noone feeds my fish while im away. Good autofeeder.
