Mildew removal

So my large system is in a finished room in my basement with carpet. My sump isnt enclosed on the sides and as such splashing from the return and skimmer has soaked into my rug. I now have a profound odor on the left side of the sump. I run a dehumidifier in the room and long term plan is to put some splash guards on place. Any suggestions on how to remove the mildew from rug with tank running? Its relatively open and I still have access to most od the floor (metal frame stand)
