So I bit the bullet on placing an order. The weather has been mild and at the time it didn't look like a storm was going to be bad enough to be an issue. Took today off from work to be home for the delivery. Three packages from three sites. LA, DD, and ORA.
Got the notice first thing in the morning that they were out for delivery yay! I'm outside shoveling and watch the UPS truck drive right on by?? Check package tracking and they've cancelled my delivery due to weather(he literally drove by my house without stopping while the packages were on his truck. grrrrr So I call and arrange to pick them up at their depot, but have to wait for him to finish his route and come back. I get there around 5:30 and they've got them sitting in the open warehouse where trucks are still coming in through open garage doors???
Get home about 6:15 what will I have;
Yellow Assesor from ORA is DOA. packaging looks good and heat pack is still warmish.
LA package is a mixed bag. pink streaked wrasse is DOA, can't tell if the abilone is OK or not but I suspect not since it's "foot" is pinched out and not retracted or holding on to something, dwarf feather dust is an unknown. Porcelain crab and pistol shrimp look OK. Packaging again looks pretty good but heat pack is abysmally small.
In fact both the ORA and LA shipment heat packs are smaller than I've ever gotten from any online shipment.
DD shipment is as big a box as the LA even though it only has a single blennie. The heat pack is huge, probably four times as large as the ORA one and the fish is double bagged which neither LA or ORA did. The blenny is not just alive but looks alert!
Learned my lesson though. I'll have them hold it for pickup in the future. Not leaving it to chance or driver whim in the future.
