Leak?

So I have a 46 bow that I acquired through CR. Really wanted the skimmer and this was just kinda part of the package. but here's the thing. I completely filled he tank with fresh water just to leak test it and run the skimmer to make sure there were no leaks(its a HOB) and that the pump functioned. I let it run for probably 4 days. The tank was full for probably 6 days total. No leaks anywhere that I could see. But now....... I have about 2 inches of salt wtarer in the tank, it's just extra that I had made up and I wanted the buckets so I dumped it in there... now there's salt creep just above the black plastic rim at the bottom of the tank. If I wipe it off it returns in a couple of days. but no water leaks from the tank. The stand that it's on is bone dry, just the creep..... so what do you think, is it leaking ? I've never had this happen... they either leak or they don't... confused to say the least...

yes it is probably leaking on the bottom seal just a little bit. i will get worse as time goes on. do no try to just reseal the inside of the tank it will fail. you have to remove the bottom pain of glass and replace silicone completely. I know this from experience.

Idk if I'd recommend it but on my 75g there were terrible seals and more then one leak. I cleaned up the silicone best I could, without completely removing it and added a new (extra thick) bead of silicone. Here we are almost 3 years later and no leaks. Again I wouldn't really suggest it. Personally I would probably never do it like that again, but it worked

Thanks guys, I may just reseal the entire tank. Not even sure if I'm going to use it but The experience would be good regardless I guess. It's not that big a tank and striping the silicone off won't be that big a job. Just surprised that the fresh water sat in there for a week with no indication and then the salt creep with 2" of saltwater happened overnight.

No indication with freshwater.

Yes, the salt creep is present after about 36hrs. The fresh water sat in the tank, full for about a week and never showed any evidence of leaking at all.

Is it drilled? Sometimes a slowly leaking bulkhead will produce similar results.
