What do you guys do for your tank when you have a power outage?
Generator, Battery backup? What's your plan of attack?
Thanks, Ed

Generator! I learned my lesson back when we had no power for 6-7 days 2 years ago. Before that though I had always managed it with just a air bubbler and a kerosene heater.(kinda sucks when your whole family leaves you to go where there's power though! Lol) Harbor freight had been selling generators really cheap lately

I bought one of the Harbor freight generators last year since the rest of Bangor was sold out. Only thing I've got from them that has worked more than once! Used it this morning, was pleased when it started again this year!

Generator. Got it wired into the house last year so it will power the whole house. Luckily, we only lost power for about 30 seconds last night.

I have a generator but have never used it. I also have a 12 volt inverter capable of 2000 watts but batteries need charging daily. we have never gone more than 4 hours without power here so not too worried.

The only thing I can say about the HF generators is NO Ethanol!! They can last you but run them at least bimonthly and if you are planning on leaving it for long periods give it a touch of dry gas then let them run completely out of fuel oh and did I mention NO Ethanol!

A generator is great, if you are home when the power goes out. I as well have a whole house generator, but in the interim, i have utilized an old UPS which i have piggy-backed with a few marine batteries. The UPS is then plugged into a small air pump and my WP40 to provide air and movement. A heater I found drained the batteries far to quickly.. and I have such a large water volume.. so it takes a long time to become a major issue...
