I don't know much about lighting but so far I have had amazing results with this and lots of people cannot believe how everything is thriving and growing so fast. Everyone told me I wouldn't do well with anything unless I spent large amounts of money but I only spent $99 on this for my 55gallon and it's working quite well for my 120 but I'm tired of climbing up the tank daily to turn it on and off. (I'm short)...   This is what I'm upgrading to just for the full bar light effect and ramp option.   Hope this helps! I'm still new so maybe I'm missing out on something but I like to think I'm doing well! Lol. I know a lot of people don't care for the ramp option, but I've had the orbits and actually upgraded to this. I really like my ReefBreeders. I've had good coral growth and for the money you really can't beat it. Plus they have great customer service and a 2 year warranty if you purchase them new.

Have you thought about used?
You can pick up a couple of used Gen 2 Radion Pros............and they will grow whatever you want.
Don't go with the chinese LED units..............they just don't work well.

i have time to think it through probably going to buy them with my tax return so that shall be the deciding factor on my price range. i'm basically sounding it out. I just dont want to try and figure it all out at crunch time and spuriously buy something I really wont be happy with.
