What's the best thing to use. Friends at Petco in Bangor said Mr clean erasers and credit card for tough stuff but not really sure about that. Besides I'm looking for something I can use from the outside.

Mag Floats work great (kinda set the standard), and they sell versions for acrylic. Just be positive that you get the ones labeled as such. I don't have an acrylic tank, so I can only speak to the glass ones, but they work great. I'd be surprised if someone doesn't respond with experience with the acrylic mag floats.

I've always used the reg mag floats with glass tanks but don't want to take the chance of scratching. Saw on drs f&s that they have specific ones for acrylic

I use a mag float made for a acrylic tanks on mine. I also have a cleaning pad, also made for acrylic, to use on the tough spots.

The tank that I've got is totally enclosed on the top except for a 4x6" opening making it very difficult to maintain from the inside which is why I was looking for something to use from the outside.

Mag float is probably your best bet. You can go around corners with practice. Why such a small opening?

I do not recomend using a magic eraser in a marine tank with corals, the damned things disentegrate and shed particles all through the tank.

Anyone know of the new "Flipper" magnet cleaners? I'm telling you, you should check out the new tunze care magnet cleaners. They're suppose to be scratch free.

Ok so since I bought this acrylic tank, I've been using a demagnetized credit card to do my algae scrapping. Works, but is a pain. Broke down with income tax return and bought the tunze long. What a difference. I give this item an A+. Thank you Jason!
