is there any way to tell if hammer corals are growing? dont see any mouth to tell if its expanding or declining . looks healthy enough though.

What foggman said. I started with 2 smallish heads about a year ago, and I'm up to 8 large primary heads (took a Dremel to it so it's 2 @ 4 heads) and approximately 12+ more tiny heads coming along. When they're happy, you'll know.

Depends on the species. Branching Hammers will sprout new heads. Wall Hammers have no heads but grow more like spreading it's footprint. Wall Hammers are far less popular so chances are you have a branching.

I've noticed with either species they'll develop a big clear bubble for a couple days before splitting off a new head. Same thing with frog spawn. Haven't seen this with torches but my torches normally close up for a whole day (or even 2 days) before forming a new head.
