Not a full tank photo but here's a pic of Laura Benedict's reef tank from just the other day.

Yes it is and it's the showpiece of the tank for sure.

So unfortunately keeping fish alive has been an issue with this tank but corals have done really well. Tonight I actually just finished acclimating a huge order for Laura that she purchased from Greg at cultivated reef. Lots of awesome stuff!

Well... I am glad that you are on it. Honestly, there is no nicer person nor anybody as worthy of having some donated time. Laura is amazing and does SO much for the community it is unfortunate that someone got her into this situation. Undoubtedly (hopefully?) someone who thought they knew what they were doing. At any rate, I can't wait to see what a difference you make and take great pleasure that at the end of the day this wonderful woman will be able to enjoy this incredible tank and gift.

Unfortunately no, the queen angel was lost due to an ick outbreak much like many of her fish. Seems like as soon as we get fish that are doing good she goes and overloads the tank, stresses everything out and causes another outbreak of ick that sweeps through the tank. In my 11 years of reefing I've yet to encounter this scenario over and over again. It's actually got me considering setting up a separate QT tank just for her.

Thanks, honestly laura is probably the most generous person I've ever met and to see how badly she was taken for just really bothered me. I prettmuch couldn't say no to helping her.

Not the best but here's an updated pic of Laura's tank. Lots of new corals from cultivated reef and today I just added my a yellow tang from my own personal reef tank. Attachments:

Well that's one more project finished. Took a glass 75 gallon tank and a sheet of 1/4 acrylic, cut baffles, cut in overflow teeth in both baffles and cut out a stand for the protein skimmer to sit on. Sanded all the acrylic so that the silicone would adhere properly and then glued it all together. Finally I just cut a piece of light diffuser grid for the skimmer to actually sit on. Now I just need to vacuum it all out and wipe it down before delivering it to Laura Benedict's house.

My silicone came out pretty sloppy in spots because it was a pain to get the calking gun in there but it was nothing that a razor blade couldn't clean up.
