Favias aren't exactly easy for everyone. I couldn't keep favias (except for one really expensive one that grew great for me! Go figure! Lol) even while I was keeping Acros. Why? I have no idea, but I was afraid to even put one in my tank for the longest time.
Eventually it worked it self out and now I have 5-6 different types of favias. Have you been feeding it? Are you currently testing your Cal, Alk and Mag?

no I only have a basic test kit PH, NITRATE 7 NITRITE, AMONIA. it wasnt in great shape when I got it from petco the rim was bare and bretty butchered in the fragging of it.
it was only $12.00 so took a chance
