Anyone on here ever had a bad luck tank where anything that could go wrong did? This isn't my tank by the way. This is the 220 gallon tank I take care of. It seems like every week something is messed up, broken or dying. I can't win. Last couple weeks I've been dealing with flatworms and the tank over heating. Mind you its in a restaurant and the AC only helps so much. Last week after discovering some corals bleaching and my huge colt coral completely necrotic, I noticed one of the jebao WP40 power heads decided to quit. I took it home, soaked it in vinegar and got it working. Reinstalled it in the tank and it doesn't work! WTH! No working wave mode or anything. It's probably only a year old. After messing with it for a while I got it to work on high but that was it. Then I noticed the second WP40 wasn't working either....seriously! Combined that with one of the overflow u-tubes being clogged again and a lion fish that won't eat and I'm completely frustrated with this tank. I feel bad for the owner who's a friend because it seems like everything that could possibly go wrong does.

Could the wp40 have been leaking voltage into the tank contributing to the other problems?

Unfortunately most of the issues have been ongoing issues that started before the jebao pumps were installed. The corals bleaching is a yearly event because a chiller isn't in the tank budget and there's no space for one either.

Like this www.wayfair.com/Casual-Home-Bedroom-Storage-Ottoman-112-7XX-CHFL1036.htmlUsed mini fridge w/freezer on Craigslist is normally under a 100$ and then just get 100' of hose? Have you tried blue velvet Naudibranchs?

Yea I don't have time or patience to DIY anything like that and like I said there's no room under the stand or around it. The blue velvet nudibranchs didn't do anything.

Bummer about this tank. Those that have seen it know it is a sweet setup. I think your pumps are cursed... Would he consider switching to a fo tank? What type of lionfish and how big is it?

It takes some work to get lions to eat. Have you tried a silverside on a piece of fishing line or acrylic (clear) feeding stick?

Do you have a fan on the sump? I got a small 9 inch fan and stuck it on my sump and when it is to hot I(my controller) turn(s) it on, cools the tank down really well

I use the WP10's in one of the hospital tanks. I find that one quits every so often and taking it apart cleaning the impeller shaft gets it going again. I also soak it in vinegar every so often. Does it have a heater controller? Maybe shorter light cycle. I've so far seen crayons in a tank, and a kiddo got a hold of a magnetic glass scraper and crushed a floating glass thermometer if that makes you feel any better, and an on going algae issue because someone was feeding the fish and not telling anyone else. I think its just part of taking care of tanks for other places especially commercial establishments, I've kinda become desensitized by it and go with the flow. All you can do is the best you can do. Oh I met the guy that used to take care of the 120 reef at governors...he told me about this time he found a hot dog in the tank that had been there just long enough to start to decompose. I can't imagine the smelly horror that was. Good luck with it. The xenia I got from you looks great in one of my commercial tanks it's taken over 1/3 of the rock work.

I would try putting one in the top of the sump blowing down on the baffels, it would defiantly help cool it down
