I'm looking for cheap ideas to pump water from my 55 gallon barrel that's in my basement to my tank that's up stairs. It's just for quicker water changes than siphoning hose

I use a pump that was part of an old skimmer that broke. Hose and a pvc "j" with a ball valve for adjusting and shutting off flow. This works good for me but my barrel (13 gallon trash can) is under my tank. Gonna need a really strong pump to push the water that far. Might wanna consider finding a place upstairs to stow your barrel away.

30' of head pressure? He needs a Mag 36 or bigger. I checked earlier and if I remember correctly the mag 18 shuts off at like 15'

I pump almost 50ft from my basement up the stairs into my living room with a mag 18 Messed up because there Web site list the mag 18 pressure shut off at 16.75'?? www.dannermfg.com/Store/products/danner/PID-02718.aspxI've never owned one so I can only go off their website. You'd think they'd have it listed a little better then half of what your pushing?

Figure it's a good 9ft rise up my basement stairs the. Horizontal for 30+ft then another 4-5ft rise so technically it's under that 18ft mark you mentioned. I'm just saying that the mag 18 is an all around great size pump to move water up from a basement. I did the same with a mag 12 but it was a tad bid slower.
