I've decided to keep a Fu manchu lionfish. A 29 is just on the edge of doable anyways.
For inverts I'm thinking of adding; pom pom crab(picked up this past week) yellow cuke anemone porcelain crab blood red cleaner shrimp sexy shrimp(maybe) acro crab(if I can get my acro colony to grow big enough)
for fish I'm thinking more typical nano fare. Maybe something like' purple firefish possum wrasse maybe some sort of barnacle blenny Also thinking about a Randall's goby and pistol shrimp pair(ust not sure my sand bed is deep enough for a pistol shrimp.
Any suggestions?

Just remember, a fumanchu lion is still a predator. It will eat what it can catch. I tried a dwarf lion in a fowlr tank with some good sized damsels once and he still cornered them and ate them. Better off going with larger fish rather than nano.

I agree with Sean 99% of your stock list would be "on the menu" for the lion fish.

I love wrasses. You need to have/make a lid. Even others can and will jump. I might have enough mesh for standard 29. I could make a lid.
Get what you want to watch for years to come. As silly and regular as it may seem i love watching my clowns. They are so dumb. They only host lps. Upgrade so you can have tangs! It's a pretty cool site when my fire shrimp catches a ride on the purple tang. Some tangs have great personality. I'm no fish expert but try to choose fish that hang out everywhere.

Well I don't disagree. But the only wrasses small enough for a 29 gallon are in the possum group which I included in my original list. Clowns are nice but I was thinking of having them in the big tank I set up(hopefully next year), but I may convert my other 29 to a clown display with a Malu anemone and a pair of Darwin Ocellaris. Tangs.......... Yes the plan for the upgrade next year is a 180 and I'm thinking a Kole eye and tomini tang. Copperband butterfly as well.........but back to the nano Thoughts on my initial combo or suggestions of others to look at?

I started out with a 55 knowing I wanted to go bigger in a year... I wish I just started with the bigger tank. Way easier to just get what you want now.
