I don't have any experience, but I've done a lot of research because I really like scorps. From all that digging I'd say(and I'm stealing this statement) "They are reef limiting" They are fine with corals. Anemones might be a problem especially if you pick a species that likes to rest on the rockwork. Shrimp are definitely in danger. Snails and hermits should be ignored though.

I had one a long time ago in a tank with a coral banded shrimp. The shrimp held its own with the lion. Depends on the species of lionfish too.

I always water these kinds of fish in the beginning. Puffers, lions, Harliquin tusk and lots of Angels but I quickly realized they just don't work in our community based reef systems. Not to mention the trouble it could be to preform maintenance! Lol Of your looking for beautiful fish to add to your reef tank why don't you check out the reef safe wrasses? Some beauty's in that section for sure! I've always wanted a trio of leopard wrasses! www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=15+1378+339&pcatid=339

That's a great option. The only reason I'm asking on the lion fish is because my wife wants on haha

I think our significant others just like to "pick" whatever it is we say we can't keep in our reefs! Lol my wife pesters me all the time to add all those predatory fish I listed above. She's the one that wanted them. Like I said with the wrasses I just casually started showing her wrasses and stuff that's reef safe and she's began to love them and doesn't bother asking anymore. I have had to commit to setting up a large Fowlr when we get our new house though. So far I've been lucky enough to dodge moving.
