Thanks! This sat empty for a couple ys. then took down the 120 and started this back up 8 - 9 mos ago. It was only 1/2 aquascaped until last weekend when I took out the frag racks and added the last of the rock and did my 1st water change of 5g. Many of the corals were getting stung by majanos and just in poor condition. Looking much better now that I've paid a little attention to it.
Ryan - That Welso brain has been in captivity for around 10 ys. I am 3rd owner.
Rob - someday soon I hope
Lindsey - Hey a local girl! I'll let you know when I get to fragging if you're up for any trades.

This tank came out amazing! Nice Job! What was that long polyp toadstool that i bought from you? The polyps were really long, and they were really feathery? The tips were white...

Lesser, I've only had my tank about 2 months or so now and I just got my light set up on wed so I def plan to get some corals going but at the moment I have none to trade so I'd prob have to buy for a while from you. Oceangirl is also local, she's in the Sanford area and she sells frags so ill prob be seeing her soon. I just need my nitrates to drop before I buy any. They're around 20-30 right now theres also someone, I can't remember who, but theres someone on here who lives on saco too. ;-) Sent from my Desire HD using proboards

Looks great everything has grown a lot since the last time I saw it. All the frags I got from you made it and are huge except the blue Xenia that died. I think at the time there was just too much Xenia in the tank. Let me know when your ready to frag anything else.

Hi Jordan, I got that toadstool fm Greg Hiller. No special name that I remember.
Lindsey, Were you able to get a bit of old / established rock or sand? That will usually give your system a good bacterial jump start.
Thanks spotfin!
jstearn, Glad to hear frags doing well. I don't think I have any of that blue xenia anymore either. I saw a smidgen of it when I cleaned up but it didn't look great.

Lesser, my tank was an established tank for two years before I got it and when we brought it to my house we kept the same sand and 1/2 of its original water so that was good but the sand I added the first round was established and the second round the girl said it wasn't Seeded but I gave a bit of it to my friend and he said it helped his copie pod population. Then the live rock I've added was from two established tanks, one was from ryans so I'm hoping its helped. :-)

I'm sure that helped. When I re-started my 40b I was taking down a 120 so I used probably 75% aged 120 water and about 1/2 of the sand just lightly rinsed. The 40 barely had a cycle and within 2 mos. was packed with copepods. .. until I added the fish.

Hahaha! Yeah, they do that LOL! Ever since i moved this one to my house Ive had 0 ammonia, 0 nitrites, ph has been good, but the nitrates are a bit high so im still working to get those down. I've been doing water changes like you read about! I cant wait to get them in control because I want to get some corals in my tank already LOL. Melissa on this forum is going to give me a few button coral and a few mushrooms on friday to start out with. She said they're both good starter corals and arent super picky about pristine water. I'm really excited to get some color in my tank! My goal is to make my tank eventually look like most of the memeber's tanks on here. They're BEAUTIFUL, I love how many diff corals you have, i believe it frog spawn in your tank, but its SOOO pretty! Anyway, I cant wait to get to there! This is the best hobby ever because when you're sick of something you can always swap it for something else and your tank is always changing and I love sitting down in front of the tank and getting lost in it! As far as the copie pods, i need to get a good population going so i can get a mandarin and a lawnmower blenny

Mine are between 10 and 20 (and maybe even 30 depending on how you read it. I know you're also supposed to add slow, so what is considered too fast?
