Well it looks like the saltwater bug has hit me I'm going to be breaking down the low light/tech 20L I was intending to be a betta albimarginatta biotype and converting it in to a small frag tank. Give that a 20L is so shallow it won't take a lot of power to light it. I know I could get a BML strip this length and dim it, but they come with 90 degree optics and with such a shallow tank I don't think I would get enough spread to evenly cover the bottom. I was leaning towards something like this; www.reefbreeders.com/shop/photon-24-w/ but at almost 400$ that seems a bit overkill for such a small tank. any other suggestions?

lights I currently have that I don't think will do(at least not without supplementation);
30" BML 1200K strip with 90 degree optics= not enough blue maybe for good growth and not enough coverage with 90 degree optics 30" marineland double bright= just plain not enough light 30" current extreme PC fixture with a 10000K bulb in it= needs for blue? inefficient compared to leds 30" finnex planted plus no optics(120 degree)= very little blue

I'll definitely check those out. Although it's a tough tank to hang a fixture over as it's in the bottom slot of a metal tank rack...........

How much room do you have? Allot of these lights you can get acylic legs or the like to hold them up.

About 15" to the bottom of the rack supporting the tank above it.

About 15" to the bottom of the rack supporting the tank above it. 15" from the top of the 20L? If so you should have plenty of room. I'd definitely go no optics though either way. Sent from my SM-N910R4 using proboards

yes from the top of the 20L. So plenty of space just nothing to attach it to. The rack is all metal small square tube. I'd worry about compromising it's strength if I drilled and tapped the upper frame.

You could attach hooks or something with 2 part epoxy?

What's your budget like. What are you fragging? I've got these over my main system and having great growth. Programmable in 1% increments. For cheaper lights I am extremely satisfied m.ebay.com/itm/141462963199?_mwBanner=1

$169 for 24". 48" is 2 linked 24" so you could double up if you wanted to.

budget is flexible but the least I can pay that does the job well is the goal. More coin to spend on actual frags as far as what frags I want to keep. Pretty much everything I get hopefully from softies, polyps, and sticks etc... I'll definitely check those lights out, thanks for the link. The other options I was considering were the current orbit marine programmable(not enough power for a deeper tank but should work well in a 20L) The other possible was replacing the pc bulb with an actinic and then use some screening to dim down the finnex planted plus.(has the advantage of being essentially free, but it's a bit of a gamble) Have any picks of your DT?

Hey I'd jump on these really quick! They only have 2 left at this price and the price is pretty good! reefradiance.com/evergrow-it2040w.htmlI was thinking about grabbing one just because, then I remembered you are looking for a led. Sent from my SM-N910R4 using proboards

Honestly if your budget is 400. Get a used AI hydra or radion. I'm having issues with color fade using Chinese lights. They have colors and yes will grow things but you really want the best for your corals. My acans have been suffering.
