My phosphates are a little high. Could this be the reason I have trouble keeping Montipora and birdsnest? Everything else seems to thrive in my tank. All other parameters are good to go.

High phosphates can be a contributing factor to why some sps fail to thrive. What are your other water parameters?

It depends on what you call high? I'd probably say imo that's not the problem with monti's and birdsnest because they're not as picky with phosphates as other Sps. Do you keep your alk stable? Believe it or not, when my Alk goes out of line my birdsnests and montipora are normally the first ones to react negatively.

Calcium is a little high at 480, mag is 1340, alk is a bit low at 7-8.(api test on alk, so probably not the best reading)

Do you have leather corals in that system?
