Recently added about 10 new gorgonians and today I went into the Augusta petco and to my surprise they had a trio of beautiful little chalk bass living together. Bought all three! Currently the tank is about 90% Caribbean.

I see the Columbian shark is still doing great. So what other fish can you acclimate to saltwater? Bala sharks? Oscars?

Basically any brackish water fish available in the aquarium hobby can be acclimated to full strength saltwater over time.

I mainly did it with the cat shark because they are well known for being more of a marine species once they grow, plus I'm a huge fan of catfish and don't have a freshwater tank anymore that's big enough so this was an acceptable way to justify having a catfish again that doesn't technically feel wrong lol. The only thing that bothers me is it's not an east coast/Caribbean species.

Beautiful as always. I realized (not that I didn't already suspect) that my fish like the taste of coral. SO.. now I have my corals in a strawberry container so they can't get to it. Not quite sure what I am going to do from here, but for now, the coral is starting to come back after being mowed down.

So between lack of time and some other issues I’ve decided that the basement frag tank would get completely shut down for the time being. That said I’ve started putting together a custom sump for my cadlights 70 gallon. The sump is 30x20x16 and will have a frag section in the middle, skimmer, overflow and liverock on the left, return pump and float valve on the right. It’s not a traditional style sump but it maximizes space. Let me know what you guys think. Attachments:

Finally got the new sump installed. Fits l8ke a glove and works like a charm! Just gotta get my third radion pro led mounted under the stand and I’ll be able to grow frags in the s7mp.
