I've got a 125 gallon tank that is about 75% sps. My tank is about 10 months old and the calcium and alk demands are kicking my butt right now. I currently am using fully saturated kalk in my ato (2 tsp per gallon) and it isn't keeping up. I'm having to separately dose baking soda and calcium to my tank almost daily to make up the difference. I've looked into a calcium reactor but the almost 1k start up cost is out of the question, so that leaves me with 2 part. I would like my tank to be low maintenance so a dosing pump with an integrated timer would be preferred, i think. I don't have an apex at the moment but I plan on purchasing one at some point. I'm at a cross roads; I don't have an apex but I need to start dosing 2 part ASAP. Decisions. If I purchase a doser with a timer and then end up getting an Apex, the purchase was a waste. If I purchase pumps without timers then I'll need to purchase digital timers to run them.
I could use some guidance. Thanks.

I have a used but great condition full Apex for sale. I'd say get the Apex, believe me I know it's a investment but also well worth it in the long run with all the things it replaces. I just bought my second Apex, had the jr and regretted not getting the full version so now I have the full Apex. If your not ready to go Apex I'd suggest getting a cheap set up to get you by until you do (witch I'm sure you will ) get the 2 part dosing system from Brs and a jebao 2 head doser (unless you want 4 witch is only 20$ more) and you can get that full set up for around 130$-145$ depending on witch doser you go with. (I've had the jebao doser since November and I'm really happy with it) Sent from my SM-N910R4 using proboards

Why did you replace the one you are selling? The other question is with regard to the ph probe: Has it been keptt wet and can you confirm that it works? I may be better off and waiting until they go on sale on the Fourth of July and then I get a warranty as well.

I may be better off and waiting until they go on sale on the Fourth of July and then I get a warranty as well. no I bought the jr over a year ago and sold it to help pay for my lights. The used Apex was something I bought to keep the extras and sell the rest because he would only sell it as a package deal. Yes the PH probe is still wet and I could calibrate it for you to be sure it works? The guy I bought it from just had it on his tank. You sure they're going on sale on July 4th? I asked a couple different retailers when they'd be going on sale again and they told me they only go on sale on black Friday every year? Buying new is always a good thing and warranties are definitely great. Great thing about Neptune though is they don't charge more then 40$ to fix something no matter what it is. At least that's what I've been told...

I am setting up a 125 gal for which I will like have to dose. My diy approach is going to be to use a IV drip attached to the appropriate sized soda bottle... From there I'm going to set my drips accordingly... I have a bunch if you can't get ahold of them.
