Hello All, So, here is my issue! I have a super bleached out LTA that I got from the guy I bought my sump/led light from because he broke down the filter system and the anemone was just gonna die in stagnant unfiltered water. Anyways, I brought him home and was informed he was bleached out and pretty sick! Apparently the LED light he came with wasn't acceptable enough to sustain him. I plan to buy a better lighting system but this could take a little while considering lighting costs. My thoughts were maybe someone would want to have him in their tank with better lighting so im not slowly killing him. I have asked one of my good friends to take him but he's a tad nervous of it eating one of his fish but he said he'd let me know so if he doesnt would anyone in the southern maine area be willing/able to take on "king triton" for a while? It's just an idea, but i figured I'd see if there were any other options for him. Thanks! PS:he's prob close to 10 inches or so when sprawled out, he's a biggen.

he is pretty white huh. if I didn't already have 3 btas I'd help you out. I had one a long time ago I lived and he never bothered a thing. what kind of lights do you have now? he won't color back up to fast, and I don't remember their light requirements being anything drastic. he looks happy enough opened up!

I did end up bringing him over my friend's house today. He'll do better there for a while in a 4 year old tank with better lighting and no nitrate issue. my current lighting is a 36'' marineland LED but this is the light he came with so I know with him bleached, its not sufficient. I'm sad to have a bald spot in my tank but I think he'll be healthier for now being there.

Most anemones (other than bubble tips) need recover when they get completely beached white like that. To try and get it to recover, let your friend know to feed it very lightly 2-3 times a week with enriched meaty foods like mysis, chopped shrimp and fish soaked in selcon, and maybe try a live phyto mix that contains the algae zooxanthellae.

Might have to rehome the condy anemone too.

The condy is actually doing really well! I've had it almost 2 months and it was white when i got it! Ryan told me it was browning because it's getting healthier. Someone else also told me that they were considered "pests" and they can pretty much be in shade and be fine. Either way, she's at the top of the tank next to my LED light
