Wow I've been having some sps getting picked at and I couldn't figure it out for the life of me! Tonight I caught one of my green emerald crabs munching on my rainbow montipora!!! I was pissed! Snatched his A$$ up and tossed it in the sump.... I know it's drastic but I feel like removing every crab in my tank now. I never believed people that said they're emerald crabs or hermits were eating stuff.

Lack of nutrients will generally lead many inverts and fish to start sampling the surrounding corals and rocks for anything edible to survive. I've had tangs eat corals for similar reasons. If you stop and think about it, emerald crabs are algae grazers that are primarily collected off grass beds. An SPS reef is like a desert to them.

I hadn't seen one of my big emerald crabs in awhile, so last time I ordered I got another one and then I saw a red one at Pet co and had to grab it. Of corse then they all started coming out of no where. So for awhile I had 4-5 of them. Probably to many for my tank. Sent from my SM-N910R4 using proboards
