So I saw a video on this awhile back and have been thinking about it ever since. The basic concept is to take a fake security camera that swivels and turn It into a rotating powerhead. I'll attach a Wp40 to it. I'm pretty good with diy but not the greatest with electrical. From what I remember of the video there isn't much electrical to change though. Thoughts? I'm putting a picture of the fake camera below. Sent from my SM-N910R4 using proboards

Not a dumb idea, can you link the video? I can't find it? I was looking at something totally different and stumbled upon it. I tried to Google diy seaswirl with a fake security camera but got nothing close. Sent from my SM-N910R4 using proboards

Sent from my SM-N910R4 using proboards I don't think it's that no one is interested, no one is getting on the board lately except a few of us faithful. I thought it was a pretty cool idea. Seems like since the swap, no one gets on the board.

I look about 5 times a day to see whats going on, on here. Not much at all. I'm new to the hobby and it's hard to get anyone to join.

Found video that looked like they were using the return line now that would be cool I saw that one as well. We're they using a rotating sprinkler head? I thought it spun around a little to fast for my liking. I want my wp40 to sit across from my Gyre and rotate back and forth to hit every dead spot in my tank...

I've gotten lots of help and learned a lot of new innovations. I have been in this hobby for 21 years now and wish I had this board to refer to during that time.

Interesting. Like the idea but it seems quite complicated. I guess if I could play the video a little slower (and without the music) it wouldn't be so bad.

Trying to figure out a practical way to put this in my system. I, like Jason, need to figure out a way to help stir up the mid and lower section. Returns are great at the top and center of the tank, using scwd, but collecting a lot of detritus on rocks and sand.
