came home today to find my wrasse dead in the sand bed. Not sure what may have caused that..? It was very active and never missed a meal. Last night it was still swimming fine zipping in and out of the rocks. The body had no cuts or miss coloration and all the other fish and corals are doing great.
Any thoughts on what could have happened?

It had been in the tank for about two weeks. I hadn't noticed anything unusual other than it venturing around the edges of the tank instead of its usual weaving in and out of the live rock but I assumed that it was just getting more comfortable in the tank and exploring more. There was one small gash on its side behind the gill but I don't know if that was after the fact

Tank is still young, it's only 2 months old but my parameters have been the same since I started adding fish about a month ago. Perform weekly 15% water changes. And the wrasse's mouth was closed

I believe it is a Red Sea test kit? Not strips

Idk? I know that wrasses are normally pretty resilient and don't catch things as easily as others.

Could be parasites as well. Six lines like to eat pods, could be related to nutrition too.

Not enough info... What are the tank parameters? What other fish/livestock do you have in the tank? What are you feeding and how often?

Not enough info... What are the tank parameters? What other fish/livestock do you have in the tank? What are you feeding and how often? Ammonia and nitrites 0, nitrates at 5-10 Two clownfish, a goby, a few hermit crabs, and I think a frogspawn coral ( it's the highest located coral and I never saw the wrasse go near it) I feed a pinch of pellets every morning and every other day half a cube of frozen squid/shrimp thawed and rinsed.
