Bought a purple bunch of purple palys at Easy yesterday, he said someone had brought them in so I was curious if anyone knew what kind they were. They're a purple, with a lighter center and green tips. I'll get pictures later when they open up. Long shot but worth a try!

Purple People Eaters are purple with green tips? I was there yesterday and didn't see them so I'm just throwing it out there.

Impossible to get an accurate ID from that photo. Give The coral a few months to grow and acclimate to your lighting, and try to get a photo under whiter lighting. With that we should be able to give a more accurate Identification. Take into account that even properly identified corals with a known lineage can look extremely different from tank to tank which gives an added layer of dificulty with identification.

Bought these at Vance's a couple weeks ago and he was sent them as Purple People Eaters. Its hard to tell in the crapy pic but mine have redish fingers but still the bright green mouth  |

They aren't purple people eaters or purple death plays. I have to agree, definitely not purple deaths. Possibly a browned out purple people eater variant but again, it's next to impossible to tell for sure. |

They don't have green mouths. But we shall see when they all decide to open up and I can get a better picture! Like I said it's not a huge deal, I'm not dying to know. It was purely curiosity.
