seriously! gmo corals anyone lmao!! maybe I can get a tank to keep some flubber scientists already screwed our food up so much it isnt even good for you. inject fish eggs with nem proteins... now they want to gmo coral for wild populations? yes this is a joke! hey maybe a couple coral facilities can grow coral to replace wild populations Oh wait thats illegal... I remember the govt tried this with black coral then shut the guy down and court battle (he had a pacific coral in with the Atlantic corals.....) but lets make our own coral in a test tube and stick it in with wild populations... again this isnt funny to anyone else free range heirloom corals anyone.... lol

So we have to test the various options before it is too late.” The way I read it they're not doing this right now. This would be research so they have the knowledge to do it if it's needed in the future. If global warming continues it maybe NEEDED. Would I want them to just start Genetically modifying corals for no reason? No..... Would I want them to have done the research so they have the knowledge to do it if it's needed to save coral reefs from extinction? Yes..... Sent from my SM-N910R4 using proboards

They are looking at options. Not much luck so far with reversing global warming and ocean acidification. Since mankind has domesticated animals, genetic modification has taken place. Prime example is all of the color morphs of clownfish these days. Are these breeders "stupid scientists" too?
