What is everyone paying for electricity? We just switched electricity suppliers! The rates are considerably lower than CMP and WAY lower than electricity maine! making the switch was wicked easy. You just go here to the website below type in your zipcode and you can see what the rates are for your town(should be about 7.25 kilowatt per hour) Who doesn't want cheaper electricity?!?!?!?! Its about time we have some competition!!! Figured I would share!!! Here is a link to the website: jekg2015.myambit.com/rates-and-plans

Don't most of these companies raise their rates to the going rate after a year or so?

Idk this company said they are going to stay competitive... they pride themselves on being lower... I asked the same question because CMP said their rates would drop in march... This company said they knew that and they planned on going even lower....

CMP's rate isn't really CMP as the "standard offer" is a up for bid contract and the actual supplier could potentially change from year to year. The Standard offer price is fixed for a year(the term of the contract) while a lot of these alternate suppliers lock you in for only 6 months. It's on you to check what their rate will be after to lock in period is over. I know of some people who when 7th month bill came the new rate was enough higher to pretty much erase the savings of the prior 6 months. Switching is easy you just have to stay on top of it and make your decisions before your contract expires. My current price is .0756 so the link you provide would save .0031 per. So savings of 2-5 per month depending on how bad my usage is. It looks like their current 12month price is .0900 so an increase of .0144 per which is an increase of 12-23$ per month depending on how bad my usage is. So in the case if my usage averaged the lowest amount. One month at their full rate(that's assuming they only put you up to the 12 month price and not some strange even higher uncontracted amount) would cancel more than 2 months of savings. If you're the type of person who can write yourself a note on the calendar and check the month before and keep switching to the best offer you can save some. If you're forgetful........maybe not.

Read up on this company, tons of complaints. Yes, you get a very low rate but if you forget to renew your offer (which you have to do on a semi yearly basis) you get hit with crazy high rates. People forget and notice their rates have tripled at least, they call and are told it will take 2 to 3 billing cycles type the renew to take place, all the while you are paying obscenely high rates..... I call this, legal scamming. This company is run like Avon, pseudo pyramid www.consumeraffairs.com/utilities/ambit.html

Yeah as long as you look at it and keep it at the lowest rate. There are pro's and cons to everything... Not everyone is going to be happy with certain companies... Idk I am gonna try it... cant be any worse than electricity maine!
