I'm about 90% sure My cardinal has eggs in its mouth. Looking for the cheapest easiest way to give the eggs a chance to live. I have a extra heater and 20 gallon tank. And a cheap fresh water Corbon water filter. Im looking for help with ideas

Separate the mother and let her do her business. If cardinals are mouth brooders like cichlids then she'll take care of them till they come out. Then remove her when she releases them.

The male Cardinal holds the eggs in his mouth up until the eggs hatch and for a while after while the fry are still tiny. There's a good change they parents will eat the eggs though.

I wasn't sure.... Just going off cichlids because I have experience with them. You could build a egg tumbler if you wanted to strip the eggs? Plenty of videos on you tube. I think trying to breed them is going to be to much for me to deal with. I'm still way to new at this hobby to try to keep another tank set up.
