Also I don't really have facts on the UV (there are articles though) but from experience I do believe they help. I honestly think it helps with the overall health and strength of the corals. Since I got my Radions that have true UV my Sps seem to be way less prone to be finicky or stress out. Again just a theory of mine. But I do agree with other people that say some is good but to much isn't good. When I first got my lights I had to dial back the UV channel. So it's also good to have the UV on its own channel. Plus they say that halides give off a good amount of UV and halides are still widely considered the best lighting for Sps growth. I think UV plays a role in that. Not many Led fixtures had UV until recently. Take a UV flashlight and put it on your corals! Wow it really makes the florescent pigments come out. My wife me one for Christmas thinking it was like the Orphek flashlight and that thing makes a glow! So it helps with color "Pop" as well...

How many of the 5.2 do you think I'd need for sps in a 60x24x24? I would think 3 would be enough but that all depends on what you want to keep for coral, the cool thing is it is fairly easy to add on if you need to

Have you guys looked at any other diy pucks? The lumia 5.2 seems to be a good contender. The reefLL seems to have priced itself out of the game having only 40w for 70 bucks. Are there others out there?

Are there others out there? There's some on ebay but I'm not sure about full spec? Maybe? I'll go check it out Sometimes you have to ask the bigger suppliers on ebay because they don't list everything Sent from my SM-N910R4 using proboards

Heres a peak at what the shopping cart looks like. Might be another pay period or two before I go ordering this! imgur.com/K242JWx I believe the above will approximate two radions and will be a great starting point for my tank. I may or may not have to add more later on.

I may or may not have to add more later on. For that price you should just buy Radions. What's the added benefit of this Diy vs Radion? I could see if you were buying cheaper pucks but at that price why not get Radions with the warranty, programming and Waterproof fan? Sent from my SM-N910R4 using proboards

I agree with you on the pricing. By the time you buy all the shit you need for DIY it doesnt come in much under what you'd pay for equivalent fixtures.

Yeah unless you find some cheaper pucks? one of the ones I listed says you can customize? Wonder if they'll make them exactly how you want them?

Also depending on how much DIY you want to do you can make the drivers for about $1-2 each, I have had good luck so far making my own PCBs
