I received a camera that isn't working and I'm now second guessing the one I picked . It's a Canon Rebel XS
From further reading I'm considering a nikon d3100...... I'm not rich so I'm trying to find something nice that's still cheap and most likely used. Anyone have personal experience with a good dslr and macro lens?

I've had a canon rebel t2i for the past 3-4 years and it's still going strong. It's a good middle of the road dslr for the price. I don't know what your price range is though- I think I paid $600 for it then. Maybe you can find a similar one used for cheaper?

If you have an iPhone how about getting one of the attachable lenses for it? I've seen some of the macro shots on forums and they are really nice... I've seen pictures taken from the Olloclip and they are quite impressive. This may be a good option while you contemplate your other options and may give you time to save up some cash.
