So I have heard alot of good thing's about led lighting and so I sold my CP light set up and am now looking to buy something to go over my 75 gallon tank. I am interested in keeping a little bit of all corals. I see the question alot, well what type of coral do you want to keep, I have seen alot of tanks keeping many different types. My top out limit at the moment is probably 500$ next month it may go up but for now thats what I got. No one has pointed me in the wrong direction in this group and for that I am very grateful and want to say thank you to everyone who has helped me. I really do appreciate it and can't thank you enough. my tanks are doing very well and I am happy. Thanks in advance for any and all future help.=Jonathan Ps if you personally have a light and it's cheaper then my buying new I may be interested.

On a 4 foot tank, you'll need 2 Radion's if you go that route. I really like mine, but they are expensive either new or used....$350-450 used or $650-750 new.
A Reefbreeders Photon 48 can be had for $500, and will support any corals you want in the future.

You could get away with a 36" photon if you keep lower light corals on the sides. Mushrooms and the like.

So are you wanting to buy a higher end light? For $500 your realistically in the programmable led range. Like the IT series from Reef breeders. You can find these same lights cheaper on ebay because they're made by Evergrow. This is a Reef Radiance IT series and is the same as the reef breeders version for less..... m.ebay.com/itm/330931078763?_mwBanner=1There's a ton of options in this price/quality range and the choice is all about preferences. m.ebay.com/itm/111377283967m.ebay.com/itm/261706395347m.ebay.com/itm/111477963308?_mwBanner=1Just make sure your 100% that this is the limbs of light you want because once you buy them it gets way more expensive if your not happy and want to upgrade right off. Trust me I know!! Lol:) If it was me looking for a led light I'd be searching out different forums and stuff trying to find a good deal on some Radion gen 2 or gen 2 pro's but your budget may go up a bit. I spent around 1400$ on my lights but they were brand new and just came out. Sent from my SM-N910R4 using proboards

That's what I would have recommended but with a 500$ budget it's not really in the ball park. Sent from my SM-N910R4 using proboards

If you can it's worth waiting a month or 2 to get what you really want. Just like anything after 6 month you ended up getting what you should have just bought the first time.

I used all these cheap lights, they work fine. for 100s more you can get a better light yes. But I have some damn expensive corals growing under these and they work. I'd love to have some radions, but that's a lot of coral. The programable cheap ones are nice, set and forget, but you pay double for that feature, I have 2 of those. And 2 of the $100 ones.

There's really no comparison though, They're just not built the same. Waterproof fan, Real UV, the best full spectrum led around imo, full control over every color separately and a great warranty and customer service to boot! Price point being the only downfall I think but also well worth it. don't stop yourself from buying high end lights so you can buy coral, they can wait. Radions are well worth every penny if you can scape it up some how. It wasn't easy for me but I felt it was a must.
