Not that RODI isn't necessary, but TDS in the 90's isn't crazy high for untreated well water(it's actually on the low side) as 100-500 is more normal for it. The sad thing is most of the things it removes are not a problem. It's just easier/ more cost effective to remove everything and then add it back(in the form of salt mix and dosing) in known quantities. Sent from my SM-N910R4 using proboards first step is to figure out what's wrong with the table saw so I can build a backboard to mount it on. I think I know what this weekends project is going to be I'd be really interested to see what your Tds would be if you added a couple sediment filters. I know my well water is probably 95% sediments. I barely go through di resin at all and my Tds is consistently 000 and all I really change is my sediment filters. I do get 010ppm Tds going into my di chamber though without flushing. But after I flush it our it's normally 000 going into the di..... I just feel a certain safety in using a complete Ro/Di unit. Sent from my SM-N910R4 using proboards

Sediment filters shouldn't have an appreciable effect on TDS. Since it's measuring dissolved solids it's only things in solution that make a difference. I do have a large sediment filter before the well tank, which has worked wonders on how often I have to pull the washer out to clean the screens. It used to be every month and since putting the filter on I haven't had to clean them in two years

Long time no update Life has been a bit out of control of late. The tank is progressing slowly. Most of the frags I added have done well. Both Frogspawn and the little hammer are doing well and growing. The three Ricordea are looking good The bird of paradise is showing signs of growth(even after I accidentally broke it off during a maintenance day) The sunny d's, Tubbs purple, and sunburst polyps are multiplying. The green people eater was doing well but closed up all of a sudden and has stayed that way for a week. Armor of God closed up a couple of weeks ago after seeming to do OK and hasn't showed any signs of recovering Fruit loops closed up and stayed that way for almost two weeks, but just reopened a few days ago and looks to be improving. Utter chaos which closed up the day it was added and stayed that way for weeks(I'd assumed it was dean and tossed the plug out of the way to clean up on another day. It has made a full recovery and looks to be multiplying. I've seen a baby trochus snail as well as a baby nassarius Last week I was in the Portland area and picked up a Hawaiian feather duster and a double head duncan frag at Easy. Both seem to be adjusting well. I need to clean the glass and take some more pics to post.

Things are still chugging along nicely. About time to pick up some new frags. I need to increase my florida ric garden, as well as try my hand at a yuma. Also looking to start collecting some interesting rock flower nems. I do need some advice/opinions. I was originally planning on doing a fu manchu lion only tank, but a 29 is just at the minimum and I'm starting to get other ideas. More nano stuff, ie(Randalls goby and tiger pistol shrimp, boxer crab, blood red shrimp, porcelain anemone crab for starters) Thoughts on how I should proceed?

The picture taking isn't going well. I'm going to have to dig out the book for the camera so I can get it to macro focus. In the meantime I snapped some questionable pics on my phone. The sole fish in the tank. She keeps the biological system active and I noticed an improvement in the coral after adding her.

Gold dust palys from CR. They are a little annoyed and mostly closed up because I had just removed them from the tank to remove some bubble algae. Blueberry tubbs from Dennis, I need to scrape the glass again. I think I need to get a different razor to do it with as the one I have seems to miss a lot. Sunny D's from Dennis;

Now that everything seems like it's mostly happy and acclimated I turned the 12000K BML strip back on(at just 10%) Definitely notice the difference in color rendering and the tank looks way brighter. I was worried about burning stuff or bleaching, but not a single coral has closed up and if anything they look happier. Not sure if the other strip just wasn't quite enough or if the 12000K strip is filling in some missing spectrum but I'm happy so far.
If my schedule holds together I'll be making a run down to see Dennis and also Jason Saturday afternoon for a couple more pieces.
