? not sure where this is coming from? last I knew penny didnt want anything to do with the "club" she told me "we" were competition....
having said that- it would be nice to see aquacorals on the vendor boards... maybe she could send christian a message it is free to be here on this site... I am sure if she posted sales and deals here people would buy.... she usually has crazy awesome deals on tanks a couple times a year

This is a very curious random first post from a brand new member.

Forgiving someone for any wrong doing first starts with said person first admitting when they were wrong in the first place. I had a very good run wiith helping her at her store until it went sour. I know I was wrong in voicing my heated opinions of her and her buisness practices in the past after having felt miss treated. I was a huge fan of Aquacorals and owe a lot of my success as a beginner in this hobby to her help. Over my time helping her, I tried multiple times to get her to partake in frag swaps and such to try and get more customers and new different corals in the door. I tried a bunch of things actually to help her improve her tanks and dried goods anyway I could. In the end she chose a sale and her business over a friend. Having said that, I'm truly sorry and saddened for her loss. Penny's husband Gary was a good man and I can only imagine what she's had to go through.

That is a random post. I still often visit the store when I have a chance and have seen many other members from this forum there. To say this board as a whole has issues is unfair. Many of us are still patrons. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions based on their personal experience and outcomes. I don't hold that against those that choose not to shop there either.

Why does flame2000 sound so familiar? It says it's a new member but I swear I've seen that screen name before?

Probably went to aquacorals recently? Idk I've never been to penny's store, mostly because I've always heard they carry a lot of soft corals and I don't like soft corals. It's a long trip to find out there's not much of what I like.

Penny's store is almost entirely soft corals, so you're correct there, Jason. I've been a few times. I enjoy Penny's shop for what it is. I've gotten some stuff there, and it's all doing well. The hammer I got there has at least doubled, if not tripled, in size in the month or two that I've had it. I haven't gotten fish there, but wouldn't hesitate to do so. I will admit that her shop doesn't have some of the more colorful stuff, but what she does have seems to be doing well.

I know most of us don't really care where we buy hobby related items from. Penny can be very opinionated, and as many of us remember from the SWAM days she really did not like the "club" thing. She would even go so far as to not sell you items when you even mentioned the "club". I made a mistake of showing my SWAM card to her to see if there was a discount like everyone in the state was doing. I left empty handed, not by my choice.
I would shop there again, if the prices were right and she had the item(s) I wanted. IMO, shopping there was ok, as long as you told her your set up was just like hers. And deny knowing anyone involved in any "club".
Like I said, I would shop there. But...

I perfectly understand protecting the animals we keep in our glass boxes! That's fine but turning people away for being in the "club" or not having your filtration and maintenance schedule to a shop owners specifications is above and beyond imo... I think she should do some frag paks or something because most maine reefers do have the "club" and no one's gonna pay 50$ for a stock of xenia or a mushroom when you can get the same thing on here for 5$-10$ I practically give mine away. Maybe she should hold a swap and try to actually show the "club" some love and I'm sure most of us will return the favor! Sent from my SM-N910R4 using proboards

I still stop at penny's when in the area. This is where I met Ryan as well. She helped me get started many years ago, but I went off on my own after a bit. She knows I'm part of this "club" and that I used to be part of swam. I have NEVER been refused a sale or anything else because of my participation in either club, nor because of how I run my system. It may not be the way she would run it, actually it's the complete and total opposite, but it works for me, pretty much lol. Even tho she doesn't carry much in the way of lps or sps (she does have some) visiting her store is worth the trip. She has beautiful mature systems that are very pleasing to the eye. It's worth it just to look. Who knows maybe you could find something in her method that works for you to. Yes she is set in her ways, her way works for her and has for many others to. It may work for you, it may not. I like my way because it's what fits my lifestyle and my budget. She has a far bigger budget or maybe I'd try her way lol. Anyway, I've never personally had an issue with penny. We are not friends per say, but I've been in her store many many times and in her home as well to enjoy her personal tanks. She is one of few stores that firmly believes in safe collections from the wild and propagates her own. Don't judge, go check her out and determine for yourself how you feel about her store, practices, whatever.

I been to penny's many times bought probably 4 nice fish from her at different times. and got a piece of one of her leathers every things done great. Ive told her i was in the club and she never mentioned anything about it. she does have her opinions about how things should be done but we all do. Shes always been very nice. really good looking fish. A little pricey but i could imagine it costs quite a bit run a small store in that area and i dont mind paying few more dollars help out a LFS
