jason I wouldnt bother.... I have been chatting with randy holmes because I use dose msm (dsmo2) after a long discussion, we came to the conclusion that msm feeds only a couple types of plankton and other than that it is a form of carbon dosing...
he recommended cysteine (reading on it, this stuff is amazing!) I found out it is an aminoacid used for treating free-radical damage,cancer,aids..... and every organism on the planet uses it. it is expensive but so is everything else...
strawberry jelly lmao you would be better off using honey or agave nectar they are sugar like the jelly but atleast they have anti bacterial properties....

Ok so quick reading found me this... m.puritan.com/amino-acid-supplements-082/l-cysteine-500-mg-000100?scid=18388&cmp=goo-_-AminoL-Cysteine-_-cysteine&gclid=CjwKEAiAnLGjBRCk_I-y_4iAmB0SJADGjWWzNVocUf9vkR0wqcPCRkrLhOcDc8I-yxRMxGLUaVnOyBoCl_Tw_wcB And it's buy 1 get 2 free! $16.99 for 3 bottles! But again heres the "other" ingredients and rice flour would probably be adding carbon correct? Other Ingredients: Gelatin, Rice Flour, Silica, Vegetable Magnesium Stearate. NOTE: This product has an odor which is characteristic of L-Cysteine. Sent from my SM-N910R4 using proboards

I wouldnt add anything in pill form.... pills contain silicates to bind them into pill form.. silicates cause algae outbreaks....Magnesium Stearate dosnt dissolve in water so it will float around in your tank until it is removed by your skimmer. not sure what the gelatin or rice flour will do in your tank? I found powder in 1000g bottle but it is like $75 I did notice some places sell liquid gel tabs but you would have to research what is in the capsule and what ingredients make the capsule... again powder is pure so no question what is in it

I would assume the powder is the same as what's inside the Gel caps? The ones I posted are gel caps I belive so it would be simple to POP them open? Either way I was thinking the same thing about the extras. What I came up with was open the capsule and dissolve in saltwater before using and remove and thing that doesn't dissolve through and coffee filter? Still a no?

Cysteines smell .... fragrant. Must add quite an aroma to your tank if you get it strong enough.

I think you would have to add a lot to have your tank smell from it... the tank should process it like any other food... another advantage to cysteine is it binds heavy metals so if used in an aquarium it will definatly midigate damage from that rusty clamp or a kid throwing a penny in your tank....
