In looking to put a new filter system in my 55 gallon tank. I want it to be user friendly. I have a over flow systen with a sump that has a hard time priming water to the tank with out clowding my tank with bubbles. Or should I keep what I have and maybe get a new sump pump

I'd try to eliminate the micro bubbles if it was me. I couldn't imagine not having a sump. Do you have a skimmer? What kind of filter are you thinking? Like a hob or canister filter? I hated having a canister filter on my tank when I first set it up. They get clogged with detritus way to easy.

How are you getting bubbles in the tank? Is there an air leak in your return line, or is the pump intake near the water line in your sump?

Where are you located? If I'm close enough I'll take a look if you like.

Can you post a picture of your sump? Hard to figure out what is going based on your description.
