I think I introduced Bryopsis to my 125 when I added snails about a month ago. It's not a major problem yet, but there are thousands of tiny 1mm sprouts growing in the shaded areas of my rock and all over the back and sides of the glass. There are hundreds growing in my fuge as well, all over my skimmer, pumps. Etc. A couple of the sprouts have grown out and look exactly like bryopsis, fern like branches similar to hair algae.
My tank is about three months old and I'm seriously considering breaking it down to do a restart... Nuke my rock, throw a away the sand and bleach all surfaces of the tank and equipment. I would be down for a few months due to my busy schedule. I just don't want to be fighting this for months and eventually have to break it down anyway.
Am I over reacting? My thought process is that now is probably better than later. I have a bicolor Blenny and a kole tang and they seem to avoid it.
Thoughts?

Mexican Turbo Snails Lettuce Nudibranchs
They eat bryopsis.....and are a much better option then tearing a tank down.

Emerald crabs do a great job of eating it. Also raising your magnesium to between 1600-1800 with kent tech-m works well too.

They are now recommending to raise the mag level slooooowllly with kent tech-M to 2000 to 2500. Kiss most of your inverts good bye but fish and coral are not suppose to be effecter by the high mag. There is also another product people are using and having some good luck with called Fauna Marin Ultra Algeam, it has been used in Europe for years.

I've moved the three turbo snails from my 29 to the 125 and they are eating it. It's relatively small still , maybe a little larger than I first estimated, 1-2mm. 3 turbos in a 125 over the course of the night made a little visible progress on it, Last night I ordered about 25 more from live aquaria along with some lettuce nudi's and about 15 margarita snails, they will be here tomorrow. I think I have a chance to beat this thing if the new crop of snails take to it like my current turbos.
My crop of Nerites are pretty useless, not enthusiastic grazers.
I've read about Kent M and peroxide dosing, but I'd like to avoid that if all possible.
Look at my tank from 5 feet and it looks like an algae free tank, get about a foot away and you can see the storm that is brewing.

Starting over is a little extreme I think because it'll get back in eventually anyways. Unless you bleach every rock and frag plug forever. I've had Bryopsis on frags before and it normally goes away fast. Low phosphate and as mentioned before margarita snails, I also find that Mexican turbos eat any algae. Having a good mix of snails, multiple emerald/hermit crabs and a tang I haven't seen much algae to speak of lately. Oh yeah and an urchin Sent from my SM-N900R4 using proboards

I had bryopsis bad in my tank when I set it up, I got a fox face and it ate it all, some say they can eat LPS and clams so they that at your own risk, so far mine has been nice to all corals

Added the animals to the tank tonight... We'll see how it goes. I added 5 Mexicans and 6 margarita snails on Tuesday, they went right to work. I love the margarita snails but they're always getting flipped over! I'd probably have all margaritas if it wasn't for that. Good luck! Sent from my SM-N900R4 using proboards

The only thing that really worked for me to get rid of the stuff permanently was with the Kents Tech M doseing, otherwise it keeps growing back!
