So my office has a bit of a flea problem and a pest service is coming Friday to get rid of them. When giving us a quote they were concerned about the reef tank (so was I) and have opted to use a water based method similar to carpet shampoo in my particular office instead of aerosols. They recommended that I cover the tank. Would a large trash bag over it for 2 days suffice if I turn off lights so just heater and power head? Any thoughts or ideas really don't want to move it twice in two months.

I'd have to move it to my house before 430 Friday. I work opposite shifts from my wife and would need to move it after work hours while simultaneously watching a 3 year old. Then I don't have a good place to put it in my home and would need to set it up with said 3 year old running around house.

I think it will be fine covered with lights off. I would make sure to run fresh activated carbon or maybe even chemipure to pull insecticide out of the water.

I've used liquid based ant killers and the like around my carpets and have always just put fresh carbon and covered the tank.
