Some of you may already know of this, but Maine shrimp can be yummy for your fish/corals and you. Sounds like there is going to be a limited shrimp season after all (it was decided yesterday to open for a short time). A good percentage of shrimp harvested from Maine waters are sold locally. The smaller stores and roadside vendors often sell the shrimp whole. If you can get these, look for the females. Depending on the timing and where they were caught, the female shrimp will be loaded with eggs. The eggs are easily scraped off. Wash them and feed them to your fish and corals. Lots of nutrition. And the shrimp meat is good too.

I always use whole shrimp in my DIY frozen food. Fish go nuts for it.

Season just opened the other day, and won't last long. Ryan, I notice the seafood store in Hallowell has some.

Thanks for the reminder! I'll have to check out the guy on the corner with the coolers in his pick-up truck. The shrimp eggs really make our fish go nuts.
