Here it is water change night for me. Even being out of work, life is so busy and tank maintenance has been falling behind. So in an attempt to get back on track, Fridays are my new water change night. So when and how often does everyone else do water changes or maintenance on your tanks?

I do a 10% (10g) water change every other week. Recently I started have an algae bloom and it would get worse with water changes so I've stopped doing water changes and my algae is going away, if that makes sense lol I picked up some silica resin at easy 2 weekend's ago got my Di chamber (hoping that was my problem) so I'll be trying out my first 10% water change today:)

I've been doing 10% changes weekly as well as trimming out a football sized piece of chaeto and cleaning the skimmer. The exact day changes as I work a rotating schedule but I record all the changes in note on my iPad.

I do a gallon water change every night through the apex. it takes 1 gallon out and puts a new gallon in. Have not had any issues yet... Been doing this about 6 months now!

The big question I have... How is everyone actually performing their water change. Any cool space-saving, time saving, even back-saving methods?

I still havent run a line from the ro to the mixing tote so I carry gallon jugs downstairs but ca3000 for mixing and pumping water back in the tank. but I still like to use a siphon to take water out so I can clean trouble areas, vacuum some sand....

I have a two 32 gallon brute trash cans stacked in my basement with RO float valves plumbed to both. Top one is for RO water storage the bottom is for mixing saltwater. Then I have a mag18 plumbed to a 3/4 union and reduced to 45ft of 1/2 inch python hose that I use to pump water from my basement to my tank. No hauling water for me. A 20 gallon water change takes me maybe 20-30 minutes.
