Yesterday I got my liveaquaria order in and One of the things I bought was a ora captive bred purple spined pincushion Urchin, when I was acclimating it I noticed some tiny green eggs in the bottom of the bag so, in my head I thought "must be a female" So I get it acclimated and put it in the tank. go about my business, had a few other new additions to get ready so I'm down near my sump when my skimmer starts going haywire!!! Automatically I get up and do the tank scan to see what up and I see the urchin on top of a rock releasing this stringy cloud and I'm like "oh $hi+ it's nuking my tank" so I reach in and pull it off it's rock and put it in a container and proceed to look it up to see what it was doing. Let me tell you it's not what I expected at all! Lol come to find out she is a he/she and was not really nuking my tank but more like "doing it's business" after releasing the eggs earlier it decided to release it's sperm all through my tank!! Lmfao guess it felt the need to mark it's territory:) Wish I got pictures, but like I said I thought it was releasing chemicals or something so I got it out asap. Never a dull moment on the enclosed reef.

some people go too far with their acclimation process to make the animals feel comfortable lol
