I've never cycled with a refugium before. Essentially 60 gallons of fuge for 80 gallons of display/frag. The fuge has an opposite light schedule. Do I wait for the entire cycle to run its course or do I add macro a bit earlier to take up some of the extra nutrients. I will ha e live sand and exclusively dry rock/media.

Wait until your cycle is finished. Chaeto needs nutrients and light to live and a new tank will not have enough nutrients to support the Chaeto.

You'd think as soon as you start seeing nitrates you could add it?

you can but I think you are going to see it turn white and die off because the tank is still to new.
