well this is my instant 5g nano. lol took about 10 min to setup lol (this will be moving to a 10g in my bedroom for a pair of onyx, once these fish are sold, looks like 2 have bonded already!) 2x3w led lights 75w heater cheap hang on filter 3 types of xiena  |

to be honest in all the years I have kept tanks and corals, this is the first time I have had xiena and the first time I have had a 5g tank setup (besides frag tank at swaps)

I try not to worry about what other ppl think, to each their own  my dad always told me "chew the meat and spit the bones" took me a wile to figure it out but I get it now lol |

Looks like they have plenty of room to swim to me! Unless your like the Chinese food place in Richmond and have a 12" oscar in a 10g tank!  temporary set ups can be suitable for most any fish. |

the thing I worry about with small tanks is water quality can change extremely fast.. this is the reason for the xiena from what I have read it is very efficient at eating nitrate and phosphate. and I did break down and buy test kits last week  first time i have used a test in years |

That's probably why it grows so rapidly! I saw a video with people using xenia as a macro algae substitute saying you had to trim it and remove it like algae?
You'd think the xenia would burn these nutrients off if it absorbs them so well?

the best part about a desktop tank...  I cant say I wont be sad when this tank comes down in a couple weeks |
