Exactly...............a more linear wide flow.
Makes a nice horizontal gyre flow in the tank.

I really like this thing though it seems to have a very long spread even flow and it's not that big for the amount of water it pushes. I think nems would be fine if they're not crawling on the glass, but I can definitely see your point with small fish. How those small colored ping pong balls kept getting caught underneath it? Luckily I don't have many small fish.
