I just saw it posted from Sea Sheapard conservation society's page. Aparently she is part of the reef defense campaign. It doesn't surprise me that people illegally collecting marine creatures would want to intimidate or harm someone that is trying to bring attention to their crimes. She's definitely a lucky person for knowing how to deal with the situation. The deeper issue here is the negative image it brings to this hobby. We as hobbyists don't have to rely on the ocean for our corals so much anymore but so many of the fish we all love to keep are still being collected this way. And most of the time we have no way of knowing if our favorite fishy was legally and sustainably collected or not.

The camera was probably the only thing stopping him since there was 2 people and 2 video cameras. Either way it goes to show you what some people are doing to harvest illegal corals and fish and what needs to be done to stop them. I'm sure there's no way to completely stop them but propagating corals to distribute amongst fellow reefers instead of buying from distributors that are constantly buying from people like this is a great start and you and a host of other great reefers and local vendors on here are great examples of that!;D
