I can't remember the last time I tested for anything. I should probably start doing that... Today I finished my 125 stand. Now to layout the sump...

I changed the filter sock in my 40, cleaned the nasty skimmer in my 180, and picked up a sailfin tang from petco for $20

I'm finishing building my new 125 stand. Had to make an extra trip to the Home Depot to get some more boards but it's almost finished. Should be sanding and coating it with polyurethane tomorrow.

I scraped the glass on both tanks, did a small water change on all, and slightly rearranged the zoa tank.

Tonight I emptied the skimmer cup, and cleaned the calcium buildup inside the rigid tubing connecting the airline to the skimmer. Pulled out a molted sally lightfoot shell and fed the tank.

Today I ignored my display, it's overdue for a weekly 10% water change...I assembled a new stand for the frag system (recently crashed due to a cracked tank!!! Wtf?), and filled the replacement 40b with 10 gal of (semi)live sand...I kept it in SW with a small powerhead in two 5 gallon buckets.
I installed a temporary skimmer on the 40b (this time, I used a square iron base, shimmed and level, with a commercial black stand, then 3/8 rigid foam, then my new 40b).
I smelled sulphur when I dumped the sand in place, so I am waiting a couple days with carbon and skimmer in place to settle things before I move the Rubbermaid system back into a 40b.
The Rubbermaid system has my coarse sand/rubble, and half of the live rock. The other half of live rock is in the sump, which was kept in steady flow.
Any advice on moving the temp frag tank back to the actual frag tank?!?
For livestock in this, I have snails, ruby emerald crab, coral banded shrimp, hermits, serpent starfish, 2 damsels, and 1 lawnmower blenny. Plus a bunch of basic corals and a small RBTA.

Did some testing tonight for everything I can test for, figured it was a good time the day after a water change. Hardness is a little high, everything else looks good......going to bring the calcium up a little bit maybe.

I traded in a bunch of corals to easy aquariums and added some banded trochus snails and a pair blue tuxedo urchins to my tank to help clean up the algae in my tank.

Sent from my HTC6525LVW using proboards Everything ok Jess? Today I roughed in the plumbing on the new tank. Fed corals fish and inverts salmon marinated in microvert and vit/amino acid. Siphoned detritus, rescued a spaghetti worm. Noticed 2 new heads on my acan! hell yeah
