Let's just say that it didn't work out so well for the BTA. My BTA got sucked into the MP10 while my wife and I were at work, thankfully I had installed the included black filter screen for the vortech in case this ever happened, but the anemone is in bad shape. It looks like the anemone got too close to the vortech and got pulled onto the screen and some tentacles were mangled. My wife put the filter screen with the attached remains of the anemone and floated it in the sump. I came home to find the anemone detached from the filter screen and moving along the container. The tentacles are a mess but the foot looks fine. Thoughts? If it wasn't for the screen, the anemone would be in pieces all over my tank.

It has a chance, just keep an eye on that mouth. The bta is inflated which is a good thing.

Should I put it back into the display? The sump is dark, not sure how long it will live without light.

Mouth is open, not a good sign?

Mouth open is fine. If it starts turning inside out or something like that then you worry. If the foots fine it'll probably make it. Try to keep it as happy and stress free as possible. I wouldn't put it in the sump if you have no light down there. Do you have an extra overflow?

I personally would leave it in the sump for a day or two the dark will help minimize stress while vulnerable. It's a very good chance it will survive with just tentacles damaged.

I think it actually may make it. Mouth is closed and the damage is serious, but much less than I originally thought.
If it wasn't for the vortech sponge cover it would of been over.

Honestly it doesn't look too bad, just stressed. Do what Jason said. Just treat it like a baby.
