Dinos? I know that recently I've started using chemiclean. I don't use it as directed. I read an article posted by pokahpolice a few weeks ago about doc (dissolved organic compounds) being the cause for cyano and many other algae problems and I've had this red slimy algae mostly on my back glass that ticks me off it's not bad but it still bugs me.
I got some chemiclean and I pre mixed it in a little dropper bottle and I add about 0.4ml a day it's not much and I used a bit more at first but it fills my skimmer cup in about an hour without changing anything and I've had amazing results in a short time. Since the chemiclean takes out doc and other bad stuff, I think personally this way has worked best the box says to stop skimmer, activated carbon, and almost all filtration for 3 days and I personally don't like to shut all those things off that long so I'm trying it this way and so far so good. I'm in no way saying this is the best way to go or that it's even a good way to take care of it?I just know I just started doing it from an idea from reading an article and so far the results have been great!

most times its a problem with your skimmer make sure its working really good and not clogged in the air intake. if skimmer is working real good should not have lotta algae.
