I really like the molding and how you rabbit joined the vertical 2/4s to the top horizontals. good job The rabbit joints were necessary to keep the width of the stand minimal while still allowing for a 40 breeder sump. I've done quite a bit lately, I'll be posting pictures this weekend of the progress.

Well, I've been really busy with the tank for the past few weeks, I've probably logged in a solid 40 hours on getting things done. The plumbing is 95% done and I should be ready to give the system a fresh water test sometime this coming week. Here come the pictures. Here's a full tank shot giving a nice shot of the overflow box and background that blend really well together. Easy did the overflow work and drilled the tank. Doors open to give you an idea of the layout There is a lot to talk about here. What you see is 2" PVC coming from a bulkhead from the sump into a Reeflo Dart return pump. 1 1/2" pipe goes up into a three way fitting. Left = 3/4" flex PVC to left side of tank. Right = 3/4 flex PVC to right side of tank. Center = reduces to 1/2 inch and leads to a manifold with three options. The manifold can be completely turned off by a ball valve. Each valve in the manifold will have a push fitting ball valve of the size needed... One will be gfo, one for carbon, and an extra. closer look at manifold, secured by straps. closer look at the 3-way... Don't judge my PVC work, it's messy bit will hold. closer look at the pump plumbing. I used full ball valve/ unions by Hayward. one of the returns with a ball valve/union from Hayward other side return plumbing here's a look at the bean animal drains. In going to clean it up a bit but it's done. This was a real pain and took hours to do! heres a shot of the plumbing from behind loc line for return flow. The opposite side is a mirror image bean animal drains... Left is full siphon, center is the open channel and the right is the emergency. I need to finish plumbing the open channel. closeup of drains That's it for now. The next thing I'm going to work on a mount for lights and rock work. Thanks for looking. I'm really proud of how this has come out so far, I've got a ways to go bit i'm getting there. I hope I don't have to deal with any leaks. I used Weld On 795 for the flex pipe which is what Portland Pipe recommended. More to come later, I need a break.

looks clean and well thought out. the only thing I might change would be to put individual valves on each of the reactor manifold outlets to control flow rates and perform individual maintenance. which may be your intent anyway.

Funny you should mention that! I have plugs in each manifold section at the moment with the intent on purchasing a JG ball valve fitting of the correct size for the reactor hooked up to each section to manage the flow to each reactor. I've been playing with the aqua scape today... I spent about three hours with my drill, zip ties, epoxy and my imagination and I think I've got the left side complete. I'll post pictures tomorrow.

I'm using a Canon T3i. I need a better tripod, a remote and a macro lens for better shots. I really need to research how to take pictures in full manual mode for better results.
I bought a cheaper tripod and am going to return it.... There's nothing more frustrating than dealing with wobblle and shaking.... I'm returning it and getting the better one.
